Anticoli Corrado, Italy, 1982-1983
Studio share with British artist Michael Sangster
Anticoli Corrado is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rome in the Italian region Latium, located about 40 km northeast of Rome. Anticoli became known in the 19th century because its young inhabitants used to pose as models for the community of artists living near Piazza di Spagna. Some artists went to see the birthplace of their models and found Anticoli a very picturesque site to the point of living there for some time. Anticoli attracted artists until World War II and nearby towns were portrayed in many paintings.
